After working together for over a year at a small start up pet company, Mike and Nick saw a need in the pet industry and began building Green Coast Pet.

As they would walk around industry trade shows they began to see the explosion of how hemp was being used for pets. Knowing a bit about hemp and how it has been being used for humans and seeing how it has helped family members and close friends, Mike and Nick knew there was a better way to deliver hemp to pets than what was being offered.

That began a year long process that included meeting with the top manufactures and suppliers in the industry and ultimately led to the launch of our inaugural hemp products: Hemp + SuperBlend in Chicken and Whitefish Flavors and our Hemp + MSM Edible Peanut Butter Flavored Paste.

While Mike and Nick were building and researching the hemp products they wanted to make sure they had a product to offer everyone, even if their pet wasn’t in need of a hemp-based solution so they wanted to make sure they developed a unique but fun treat line-up as well. They had both given peanut butter to their dogs in the past and knew their pets loved it but there was no healthy alternative made with pets in mind so they decided to start their treat line there with Pawnut Butter. It is a super unique blend of peanuts and flaxseed and they were careful to make sure that there were no added ingredients beyond that. As Green Coast Pet continues to grow, they keep coming up with new and fun ideas so make sure to visit us often and sign up for our newsletters to see what’s cooking!

Q: How are Green Coast Pet products different than anything else on the market?

All of our products use organically grown hemp from Colorado. In addition, our chews use a manufacturing process called “Cold-extrusion”. This process allows us to never expose the active ingredients in our products to extreme cooking temperatures which allows all of our ingredients to remain in the basic raw format allowing for optimal efficacy. Lastly, all of our products are made with pet’s special needs in mind and are all very soft which means that even if your pet doesn’t have teeth or has brittle teeth, they should have no problem ingesting any of our products.

Q: Where do you get your Hemp?

All of our Hemp is grown in Colorado. A complete plant profile is reflected in our full-specturm oil, containing all cannabinoids and terpenes naturally found in hemp. Our extraction & purification process uses a proprietary and patented technology that preserves all the phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and plant lipids, while eliminating unwanted waxes and chlorophyll. A rigorous testing scheme is followed to ensure that the critical attributes; taste, color, potency, and purity consistently meet customer's requirements for making finished products. Our oil also has a much smaller droplet size than normal which creates a higher surface area which allows higher absorption than other oils. We also use a highly bio-availability and absorption.

Q: How do you extract?

Our proprietary hemp extraction process ensures the preservation of nearly all beneficial hemp derived cannabinoids and terpenes while allowing us to eliminate unwanted compounds. This process ensures that our products contain the synergistic compounds necessary to produce the entourage effect which contributes directly to the efficacy of our hemp oil.

Q: How do Hemp-based products work?

Hemp products work through a number of complex receptor reactions in our pet’s bodies. Unlike THC (the psychoactive compound that causes the “high”), other hemp actives do not bind to the CB1 receptors and therefore does not produce a psychoactive result or “high”.Hemp actives simply hemp supplement mammal’s ECS system. The ECS serves to help the body’s immune, central nervous, and digestive systems maintain balance or homeostasis.

Q: Will my pet get high using your product?

Absolutely NOT! The compound that creates a "high" is called THC and it is completely absent from all of our products.

Q: What medical conditions will your Hemp products help with?

Legally we are not able to make any claims on the potential benefits of hemp. We suggest that you do your own research and consult with your veterinarian.
